The 18m Spider Boom is a light-weight machine, subject to a load of 5 tonnes in comparison to a placing boom loading of 30 tonnes. It is therefore easily moved around site with the aid of a tower crane or tele handler, making it perfect for reaching into tight corners where the mobile booms cannot. In previous projects, the 3-section hydraulic spider boom has been able to eliminate the need of extra static lines and in turn, reducing labour costs and increasing efficiency on a concrete pour. With this machine there are endless possibilities where it can facilitate the pouring of concrete, we have used it on basement slab pours, in-situ deck pours, slip forms and even on railway projects. In every instance it has enhanced the speed of the pour and more importantly increased the safely and welfare of the concrete crews as it has removed the need to manual drag groundlines around the pour area.
The working principle of spider boom pump is mainly based on its unique mechanical structure and control system. It is usually equipped with components such as telescopic arms and rotating platforms, which can achieve precise concrete placement in 3D space. So, the main components of spider boom pump include the main structure (arm system, rotating mechanism), power system (hydraulic system, electric system), conveying system (conveying pipeline, hopper), control system (electrical control system, remote control system), and auxiliary components (counterweight device, safety device).
These components work together to enable the spider placing operations in complex construction environments.
Simply, the operation of a spider boom pump involves three processes.
Firstly, the pumping process. Concrete is transported from the mixing plant or storage tank through a conveying pipeline into the hopper of the material feeder.
Next, mixing and conveying. Inside the placing machine, the concrete may be mixed further to ensure its uniformity, and then be transported to the nozzle of the placing boom through a high-pressure hose drive by strong pumping pressure.

Finally, concrete pouring process. Conducted by the control system, the placing boom arm, stretching and rotating, precisely pours concrete onto the terminate points.
Spider boom concrete pump has a multi joint and multi-freedom mechanical structure, which can operate flexibly in a narrow, complex or high-altitude environment to various construction needs.
Through advanced control system and sensor technology, the spider placing boom machine can achieve precise pouring, even distribution and good compactness of concrete material.
Spider boom concrete pump has a large radius and high conveying speed, which can significantly improve construction efficiency and shorten the construction period.
The equipment structure design is reasonable, and the safety device are complete, which ensure the safety of operators during process.
